OREANDA-NEWS. August 24, 2012. Top-managers and specialists of "PMZ" took part in the seminar "Quality management system as a tool of improvement of company management system based on the principles of quality management", reported the press-centre of Perm Engine Company.

The program of the consultation seminar included such topics, as "Development of management theory", "Interrelation of QMS and company management system", "Legal fundamentals of QMS",  "Standard AS/EN 9100". Seminar participants considered the basic terms and characteristics of QMS peculiar to aircraft industry companies, analyzed interconnection of QMS and financial management system, and also learned the key principals of international and Russian regulations concerning aviation industry. Special consideration was given to the analysis of the application, structure and additional requirements of Standard AS/EN 9100.

Importance of this training is strengthened by the forthcoming certification of production of perspective 5th generation engine PD-14 according to AS/EN 9100 standard system. These standards certify enterprises, producing aviation equipment, including aircraft engines, operated in the international market. Aircrafts furnished with Perm engines are being operated in Cuba, India, Jordan, DPRK, and Azerbaijan.

Sergey Tylibtsev, Quality Director, OJSC "Perm Engine Company":

- The main purpose of the training was to teach the participants to work with new management tools, giving opportunity to estimate the efficiency of the company management more objectively.  The seminar rose great interest among the members: almost all of them pronounced their opinion, suggested their view of improvement of the company management system. It was understood that AS/EN 9100 certification is critical for aviation industry companies, and preparation to it did not and could not include minor aspects.  All the participants agreed that everything is important: production organization, equipment park operational state, support of production process cleanness and corporate culture, smooth work of all shops and departments, their well-adjusted cooperation, and meeting the requirements of national quality standards. And this was the main result of the seminar.

The seminar preceded AS/EN 9100 certification of our production, which will be held till the end of August 2012.  We are aware of the fact that quality is meeting the expectations of a customer, and run this certification satisfying the demands of our partner - aircraft building corporation "Irkut", which will manufacture state-of-the-art MS-21 aircrafts furnished with Perm PD-14 engines. It is crucial for aircraft builders that production of the engines or their aircrafts is certified as per international standards, and for "PMZ" it's important to confirm the highest quality and thus competitive ability of its production.  Having no AS/EN 9100 certificate we will have few chances to get the quality standard of European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA), without which it is impossible to operate the production in Europe and compete in the world market successfully.
