OREANDA-NEWS. August 28, 2012. Belarus’ GDP may expand by 8.5% in 2013 by stimulating growth in the new economy sector, Economy Minister Nikolai Snopkov told the government’s board meeting on August 8.

By following a traditional economic scenario, Belarus will end up with 6% GDP growth in 2013, Snopkov said.

The minister reckons Belarus should create 200,000 high-productivity jobs in 2013-2015 and stimulate high-tech exports. The minister does not specify which industries will contribute most to stimulating growth in the new economy sector.
