OREANDA-NEWS. August 29, 2012. Belarus saw the consumer price index grow 1.3% in July 2012 to compare with 1.8% in June, 1.6% in May, 1.7% in April, 1.5% in March, 1.5% in February and 1.9% in January 2012, the National Statistics Committee told.

In January-July 2012 Belarus’ consumer prices grew 12%.

In July, staple food prices went up 2.1% (up 14.1% since early January 2012); non-food prices increased 0.2% ( up 7.1%), and service prices went up 1.2% (15.9%).

Belarus’ inflation grew 108.7% in 2011, while the original forecast for 2011 stood at 7.5%-8.5%. The government expects inflation to stay under 19-22% in 2012.
