OREANDA-NEWS. August 31, 2012. Veles Capital Investment Company becomes a partner of the 17th Red Square annual Charity Bike Ride organized by the Downside Up Charity Foundation to support children with the Down syndrome.

The Bike Ride has started on August, 24th. It unites more than 500 participants from various industries –Russian and foreign companies, individuals, public figures, media representatives and parents of the children with Down syndrome. In three days the participants will challenge 170 km of roads at Kaluzhskaya area. The Bike Ride center becomes Ethnoworld cultural and educational travel center. A solemn finish took place on August 26th at noon (12 p.m.) at Vasilievsky descent of the Red Square.

This campaign allows Foundation to rise up to 6 million rubles annually. All proceeds go to the implementation of free programs for early assistance for children with Down syndrome in Russia. Thanks to funds collected over three thousand families receive free psychological, educational and social support by means of the Downside Up aimed programs.

Veles Capital has been providing services in the securities market, real estate area, private equity and corporate finance projects since 1995. For the last 11 years Veles Capital has been cooperating with the Downside Up foundation and supporting its charitable activities. Veles Capital Investment Company CEO Alexey Gnedovsky is heading the Downside Up Advisory Board.

Downside Up is international non-profit organization providing support to families, public and non-profit organizations in the training, education and social integration of children with the Down syndrome. The Foundation has positive impact on public attitudes towards disable people. All Downside Up programs are free of charge for the families with disable children. Since its opening Downside Up acts due to private donations, holding fundraisers, grants and sponsorship contributions from various companies.
