OREANDA-NEWS. August 31, 2012.  The Bank of Moscow is a partner in the VeloRussia project for setting up a network of branded bicycle rental terminals.

The project organiser, alongside the Bank of Moscow, is the not-for-profit organisation Association of Organisation in the sphere of development of the bicycle infrastructure and sport (ARVIS).

Within the scope of the state programme of the City of Moscow "Development of the transport system 2012-2016", approved by Resolution of the Moscow Government, it is planned to implement a number of measures designed to develop the bicycle infrastructure, including: construction of a network of cycle paths (a minimum of 72.8 Km) and establishment of bicycle parking lots (a minimum of 17 000).

By the end of the year, 3 cycle routes with infrastructure facilities (parking lots, rental terminals) will be set up in 3 Moscow districts (Central, South West and South East).

The VeloRussia project provides for creation of a network of branded bicycle rental terminals and bicycle parking lots in city parks and recreation zones.

"Not by chance it the Bank of Moscow is participating in the inception of a bicycle infrastructure in Moscow and acting as a partner in the VeloRussia project; after all, a healthy lifestyle and concern for the environment are rightfully considered one of the chief priorities for people today", commented Mikhail Kuzovlev, President and Chairman of the Management Board of the Bank of Moscow. "As a socially responsible bank, we are not standing on the sidelines but taking part in the project with great pleasure".
