The Republic of Uzbekistan has applied for a loan from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) to help finance the cost of construction of 500/220kV Namangan Substation including the 500kV transmission line from Novo-Angren Thermal Power Plant to the Namangan Substation and rerouting of two single circuit 220 kV transmission lines, reported the press-centre of Uzbekenergo.

The Republic of Uzbekistan has applied for a loan from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) to help finance the cost of construction of 500/220kV Namangan Substation including the 500kV transmission line from Novo-Angren Thermal Power Plant to the Namangan Substation and rerouting of two single circuit 220 kV transmission lines.

The proceeds of the loan are intended to be applied for the procurement of the following:

Transformers and Shunt Reactors
Power Equipment (High Voltage)
Communication Equipment
Relay protection Equipment
Galvanized Steel Tower Structures, Wire Ropes, and Accessories
Transmission Line Material (all conductors and cables)
Insulators and hardware
Transmission Asset Management System
Project Implementation Consulting Services
Transmission Asset Management Consulting Services
Transmission System Planning Consulting Services

All procurement of goods will be undertaken in accordance with ADB’s Procurement Guidelines (2010, as amended from time to time) using international competitive bidding (ICB) procedure.

All consultants will be recruited according to ADB’s Guidelines on the Use of Consultants (2010, as amended from time to time). All consulting firms will be engaged using the quality- and cost-based selection (QCBS) method with a standard quality:cost ratio of 90:10, considering a high level of technical expertise and experience required.

The first batch of bidding documents for goods and/or request for proposal is expected to be available on or about 20 November 2012, subject to a nominal charge.
