OREANDA-NEWS. September 05, 2012. Nizhnekamsk tire complex of TATNEFT has launched a full-scale production of a new range tires with a universal tread pattern. The first of the new universal products, produced by the factory of solid steel cord tires (SSC) was a KAMA NU-301 model of size 275/70 R22.5 designed to be installed on any axis and primarily on city buses, reported the press-centre of TATNEFT.

New tires are characterized by a more solid tire shoulder area, which allows increasing the bus traction quality, which is important in winter conditions. Reinforced tire carcass sidewalls provide for improved protection against impact of curbs and tire cuts, as well as added stability on dry road surface and on the wet asphalt. There are three large longitudinal ribs with special lugs providing for tire stability while driving in all weather conditions, while four deep grooves between them reduce the risk of aquaplaning.

A special sidewall wear indicator allows to continuously monitor the state of the tire, thus ensuring the passenger transportation safety.

The undeniable advantage of the tire is its appropriateness for deepening the pattern by a retreading method, the need for which will be relayed to the bus owner from the special wear indicator having the form of a knife. The tread wear to the "snowflake" indicator will inform the owner that the further operation of the tire is not recommended in winter.

Another option, which has already become traditional for SSC KAMA tires, is the possibility of retreading. The tire retreading and recapping are the most effective ways of extending the service life of the tire. Application of these procedures allows increasing the tire's life period by up to 3 times. In addition to the obvious economic benefits these tires also have an environmental advantage as they essentially reduce the number of tires that are sent for recycling.
