OREANDA-NEWS. September 7, 2012. Belarus’ ferrous rolled stock output rose 4.3% on the year in January-July 2012 to 1.524 million tonnes, an official with Belarus’ National Statistics Committee told reporters.

Steel output increased 2.5% on the year to 1,675 million tonnes. Steel wire output rose 2.4% on the year to 251,200 tonnes in the period.

Belarusian companies produced 55,600 tonnes of metal cord in the period, down 2.9% on the year.

In monetary terms, ferrous metal output in Belarus increased 2.3% on the year to 22.679 trillion Belarusian rubles (Br) in January-July 2012.

Inventories of steel products totalled Br1.409 trillion as of August 1, 2012, 60.8% of the average monthly output.
