OREANDA-NEWS. September 13, 2012. The building of Kuyumba-Taishet oil pipeline that gives opportunities to two major oilfields in Evenkia, is among key priorities of development of the economics of Krasnoyarsky Krai. Lev Kuznetsov, the Governor of Krasnoyarsky Krai, declared it during the conference chaired by Sergey Donskoy, the Minister of RF Natural Resources and Ecology.

S. Donskoy’s business visit to Krasnoyarsky Krai was dedicated to prospectives of development of mineral raw material complex in the territory and realization of the project of Kuyumba-Taishet oil pipeline building, which is strategically important for Siberia’s oil and gas sphere. "Krasnoyarsky Krai is one of the three leading regions of the Russian Federation in volumes of stock of hydrocarbons and is the absolute leader in solid minerals stock, – S. Donskoy noted. – Significant investment projects are already being realized in the region, and its effects facilitate both the development of the region itself and the development of all the country in total. It is important to join together efforts of regional and federal authorities to let the region’s colossal potential continue its transformation to certain projects”.

L. Kuznetsov noticed that the region has already accumulated such an experience. Development of Vankorskoye oil-gas field can be an example of it. "Developing new technological spheres of economics, we shall also use those natural treasures that the nature presented us. This is our competitive advantage. Nevertheless, both extraction and processing of natural resources shall be fulfilled using new technologies, according to the modern ecological standards,"L. Kuznetsov said.

Aleksandr Puzikov, a Deputy Director of "Vostoknefteprovod"Ltd. (an affiliated company of TRANSNEFT JSC), informed that it is planned to finish projecting and building of the oil pipeline that binds Kuyumbinskoye and Yurubcheno-Tokhomskoye oil fields with ESPO trunk pipeline system in the fourth quarter of the year 2016. Its total length would amount more than 700 km (including over 500 km going through the territory of the region), and its pass-through capacity would amount up to 15 million tons of oil annually. More than 1100 workers will be attracted at the stage of building. The natives of the region will be in priority at recruitment. "A special attention at realization of the project will be paid to the environmental aspect, as well as to cooperation with the native inhabitants. So, public hearings were held this week in several regions of Krasnoyarsky Krai, through the territory of which the oil pipeline will be laid. And the natives approved the project realization there,"- A. Puzikov said.

The Minister of RF Natural Resources and Ecology admitted a high importance of this project and expressed his willingness to assist synchronization of the terms of finishing the building of the oil pipeline and putting the very oil fields into industrial exploitation.
