OREANDA-NEWS. September 13, 2012. Work on Parus (Sail), the first skyscraper in Belarus in the center of Minsk, is coming to an end. Construction of a monolithic frame was finished on the City Day last week. Today, the skyscraper rises above the city at a Belarus record height of 118.1 meters. Commissioning of Sail, a high-rise block of flats and administrative, social and household premises is planned for 2013.

Parus, is a business class apartment house. It is located on a rise with panoramic view of the city. The building has a favorable transport connection. It is located on Timiryazev Street, Kalvarijsky Street and Maxim Tank Street crossing in immediate proximity to Frunze, a subway station. It is three quarters away from Prospekt Nezavisimosti (Independence Avenue), the main street of the city. The Parus infrastructure shall include a trade and entertainment complex, a sports complex and an underground parking. The parking shall be another unique phenomenon for Belarus. The system of semi-automatic parking modules will help accommodate a substantially larger number of cars, if compared to a conventional parking lot.

The ventilated facade of Parus is finished with special tiles and glass. This will allow for favorable microclimate inside the rooms. Such facade serves a sunscreen in summer, and considerably reduces heat losses in winter.

The apartment house includes one-room, two-room, three-room, and four-room apartments with an area between 61 square meters and 179 square meters. The apartments are 3.0 meters high. All apartments are equipped with double glass panes, systems of individual accounting, heating and electric power control, centralized system air conditionings of all individual apartments with automatic temperature control. Top floors are two-level penthouses with exits to an open terrace.
