OREANDA-NEWS. September 17, 2012. Tata Daewoo will start sales of its 2013 Prima and Novus trucks, with marketability and quality improvement, on September 6, 2012, with a nationwide display tour.

Tata Daewoo held a launch ceremony for the two brands, the premium Prima and the economic Novus, in Gunsan, which was attended by around 200 customers and employees on September 5, 2012.

Dr Jongshik Kim, CEO, Tata Daewoo, said, "Prima boasts 560 horsepower, the maximum output verified in the market, and is manufactured based on 48 items of customer requirements in terms of marketability and quality improvement. Tata Daewoo will upgrade its brand power by boosting sales in both domestic and international market."

Tata Daewoo is offering a wide range of choices in the 2013 Prima and Novus by introducing premium and economic variants that include as many features as a customer requires.

Tata Daewoo added the electronic 4-bag chassis air suspension to improve the performance of the Prima, to protect goods in a cargo box and enhance ride quality and durability. The addition will increase brake performance to 30 percent, by replacing existing drum brakes with disc brakes. It also has an improved charging performance with a 230 amp high-capacity battery (optional) and 100 amp alternator (basic) for electronic convenience devices and special purpose vehicles (SPV).

Some improvements suggested at the two-week long Truck Field Experience event, which was attended by executives and team leaders, were added as well. The truck also has a ventilation seat, which blows cold wind and has a heat wire to keep the driver comfortable in every weather.

In addition, Tata Daewoo has also included the eco-driving system for better fuel efficiency, two-dot side mirror to secure wide view angle and high-load spring (front / rear) for SPVs.

Launched in 2009, Prima has been the first recipient of the grand prize at the Good Design Selection of Korea 2009 in the truck segment and the first to receive the German Design Award 2012 among domestic car makers. Four primary colours, silver, blue, orange and green, and big metallic patterns and tattoo-shaped graphics on the side make the Prima look stylish and sophisticated.

Tata Daewoo also has plans to expand its network of one-stop service centres that provide service for sales, maintenance and parts at a single location from 5 to 12, and strengthen maintenance facility and workforce to provide rapid and high-quality service to customers.
