OREANDA-NEWS. September 19, 2012. According to the Ministry of Economy, the forum is for the first time organized in the context of work of the Moldovan-Russian intergovernmental commission on trade and economic cooperation. The business forum is expected to be taken part in by Russian companies already having partners in Moldova as well as those that are going to enter the national market or are searching for investors.

Participants of the forum are going to consider particular investment projects aimed at enhancing export possibilities, matters of eliminating trade barriers, attracting investments and adopting modern technologies. The forum is expected to become a platform for target discussions between authorities and businessmen, for development and implementation of investment and innovation strategies, industrial clusters development policies, Moldovan goods and services promotion, marketing development. To date, the Ministry of Economy has already received plenty of investment offers in the field of agriculture, transport and road facilities, IT, etc.

The official part of the forum will be followed by sittings of working groups on the following topics: “Investments- possibilities and opportunities”, “Export-import Operations, Problems and Solutions”, “Regional development, Public-private Partnership Mechanisms”. In the framework of the forum participants will discuss problems of business development, matters of legislation, development of facilities, financing and lending, industrial innovations, cooperation between SME and large companies. RF President Vladimir Putin and Premier Dmitry Medvedeve at their meetings with Moldoan Premier Vladimir Filat confirmed interest in having Russian investments promoted to the Moldovan economy.

They noted that although the economy of Moldova had accumulated not so much Russian capital, the opportunities in this repsect are very promising. As of January, 1, 2012 Russian investments in the national economy of Moldova have amounted to USD181 mln.; however expert esteem their real amount exceeds USD500 mln. Major Russian investors in Moldova are presented by such companies as Gazprom, Inter RAO EEC, Lukoil and others. According to the State Registration Chamber of Moldova, in our country it has been registered 769 enterprises with Russian capital.
