OREANDA-NEWS. September 20, 2012. At a special ceremony, employees of Sberbank received certificates of completion for the Sberbank 500 Leadership Program. The event was attended by Herman Gref, CEO and Chairman of the Management Board of Sberbank of Russia, reported the press-centre of Sberbank.

The Sberbank 500 Leadership Program aims to provide systematic education to Sberbank's managers in order to increase their competencies in basic management skills such as the ability to think systematically, to plan and to manage the activities of subordinates.

500 Sberbank employees participated in the program: vice chairmen of regional banks, managers of head offices/offices and their deputies, and heads of departments in the headquarters and regional banks. The educational process took about a year (from August 2011 through June 2012) and consisted of five modules.

As part of the program, instructors from the INSEAD business school taught courses on Strategy, Leadership, Marketing, Human Capital Management, Decision-Making under Uncertainty and Operations Management. Instructors from the Russian Economic School held classes on Economics and Finance.

"Sberbank 500 is a really unique program because it was designed specifically for the managers of Sberbank," said Herman Gref. "It was developed by taking into account the background of the participants, their experience and the requirements for their positions in Sberbank now and in the future. Such a combination of the main aspects of МВА courses with participant needs created the unique structure and content of the program, which will be effectively applied in practice."
