OREANDA-NEWS.  From September 24 to 28, 2012 the activities of Information Communication Technologies Week INFOCOM 2012 will be held in Uzbekistan. ICT Week is annually held in Uzbekistan since 2004 at the end of September. "Uzbektelecom" Joint Stock Company is the technical sponsor of the main activities of the Week, reported the press-centre of Uzbektelecom.

The information of the main activities of ICT Week INFOCOM 2012

Within the framework of Information Communication Technologies Week INFOCOM 2012, from September 26 to 28, 2012 at the same time in the cities of Tashkent, Navoi and Termez annual national exhibition of information technologies ICTExpo 2012 is being held.

The idea of holding exhibition in three cities at the same time is dictated by the desire to show the increased regional penetration of information technologies.

During the exhibition a video bridge will be organized that will allow visitors to get acquainted with the exhibitors of both exhibitions. Leading companies on IT-market of Uzbekistan will take part in the exhibition. More than 150 companies participating in the exhibition will show visitors the latest developments in the sphere of information technologies, present a wide range of original services and solutions. Along with the domestic companies the representatives of Russia, Ukraine, China, Austria, Germany, Korea, Hungary, etc. will participate in the exhibition.

The exhibition program is wide and varied and includes a wide range of educational seminars, round-table discussions as well as entertainment activities.

ICTExpo 2012 will significantly contribute to the cooperation, give a new impulse to the development of mutually beneficial cooperation in the field of information and communication technologies and the establishment of strong business contacts.

Within the framework of Information and Communication Technologies Week, on September 25, 2012 Tashkent will host the National Summit on Information and Communication Technologies - ICT Summit 2012. Annual ICT Summit gathers key participants of the field from Uzbekistan, the CIS and abroad, who are interested in developing partnership relations, discussing achievements and challenges, and exchanging of views on issues of ICT development.

ICT Summit, designed to stimulate the development of the sector, is a good platform for demonstration of the latest tendencies and achievements, discussion of the perspectives of the industry, as well as international and regional cooperation in the field of ICT. Such issues as regulatory policy in the field of ICT, ICT for social development, development of the software industry, ICT in public administration, the development of the media business, e-commerce, e-health, the creation of specialized scientific and technical areas and favorable infrastructure for entrepreneurship and innovation, the role of the state in this process will be discussed on the Summit.

On August 5, Internet festival of national domain UZ 2012 started in Uzbekistan. The organizers of the festival are: "Forum of Culture and Art of Uzbekistan" Fund, Center of Youth Initiatives "Kelajak Ovozi" and the Center for Development and the introduction of computer and information technologies UZINFOCOM. InfoCOM.UZ magazine acts as a coordinator of the festival. Official support for the festival is provided by Communications and Information Agency of Uzbekistan.

This year the festival takes place from August 5 until September 24. The results of the festival will be announced on September 24 at the Palace of Youth Creativity on the first day of the Week of Information Technologies INFOCOM 2012. The main objectives of the festival, as in previous years, are to promote Internet among the population of Uzbekistan, to assist the development of national content and expansion of the Uzbek language in Internet.

To assess the sites the jury is consisting of eminent specialists in the field of Internet technologies, art, culture, government and others.

The competition program includes 10 thematic and three special nominations. This year the competition program included special awards from the national search system WWW.UZ for the members of each of 10 thematic nominations. The winners will be 10 sites, which over a certain period gathered maximum number of hosts among the participants of each thematic nomination.

The main difference of the competition program of festival 2012 is the introduction of a new special nomination: "The best site for family". Each nomination is awarded first, second and third place with a diploma and a prize of the festival. The awarding ceremony of the festival will be held on September 24 in Tashkent, in the Palace of Youth Creativity.

The organizers of the ICT Week are the Committee on Information and Communication Technologies of the Legislative Chamber of Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Coordination Council for development of computerization and information and communication technologies, Communications and Information Agency of Uzbekistan, the Association of Companies and Organizations of information technologies of Uzbekistan and "CIB GROUP" LLC. Technical sponsor is "Uzbektelecom" JSC.

ICT Week will promote further development of ICT in the country, strengthening of international cooperation and give new impulse to mutually beneficial partnership in this area.
