OREANDA-NEWS. September 27, 2012. Company “Kronshtadt” (St.-Petersburg) finished commissioning of “Poliom” Ltd fire extinguishing system. The system is functioning without interruption, reported the press-centre of Titan.

“Kronstadt” won the tender for supply of such fire extinguishing equipment in 2008. The company performed design, production and supply of fire fighting pumps VN PUMPEN (Germany) for polypropylene plant.

Designing of the equipment was performed in close cooperation with one of the leading Russian design institutes, which carries out complex of research, design and survey works and renders engineering-consulting services in the sphere of construction of objects of oil and gas industry (CJSC “PIRS”).

The delivery set included: major pump with electric drive and two reserve pumps with diesel drives (capacity 1600 m. cub/h and force 105 m each). The pumps conform with NFPA-20 requirements.

The design was finished in late 2008, in 2009 was performed delivery of the equipment. Company “Kronshtadt” also conducted inspection of performance of devices by independent classification society Germanischer Lloyd. Commissioning works conducted that year demonstrated flawless performance of firefighting system.

Fire safety of the new plant is provided by fire brigade of public company “Omsky Kauchuk”, for which two additional firefighting vehicles (powder extinguishing and tank lorry) were purchased. The staff was increased by 26 persons: these are firefighters, instructors, drivers. Each day instructors control general condition of fire safety and conduction of fire-hazardous works (fiery, repair), check state of primary means of fire extinguishing. All workshops of “Poliom” Ltd are equipped with automatic fire alarm and automatic fire extinguishing system which conforms with all modern safety requirements on industrial objects.
