OREANDA-NEWS. October 2, 2012. Construction of a 5-star hotel for accommodation of IOC representatives has been finalized in Imeretinskaya Lowland. Russian Vice Premier Dmitry Kozak took part in the solemn hotel inauguration ceremony.

According to him, the new infrastructure facility built under the Olympic program will receive the first guests in October 2012. "Sportsmen will live here during national test competitions. All facilities will be tested to avoid failures during the Olympics and in the post-Olympic period", noted Dmitry Kozak.

The five-star hotel located within a walking distance of the Olympic Park has been built in 18 months. There 500 suites, including two presidential suites with terraces, and 26 rooms for low-mobility population groups in the 10-storey building. In 2014, IOC representatives, including Count Jacques Roggue, Prince of Monaco Albert, British Princess Ann, the total of more than 100 VIPs from all over the world, to be accommodated here.

The hotel is built on the "green" technologies. It is fitted up with power-saving glasses, light diode lamps and undergoes certification for conformity to BREEAM (international environmental standard). A congress center for IOC Sessions is adjacent to the hotel.
