After testing at the plant of Alstom company, this main freight electric locomotive will travel to Europe and then will arrive in the capital of Kazakhstan, Astana.

According to the contract of the national railway company will supply 295 of these locomotives. And after a course of training local specialists from Astana in France KZ8A locomotives will be assembled at the plant in electric locomotive factory in Astana. Thus, it is expected that only 10 units of KZ8A come from abroad, and the rest will be collected in Kazakhstan.
 
They can pull a train up to 9 tons, replacing the three-section electric VL80S. Electric KZ8A specially designed to operate in Kazakhstan, including low temperature climate. The speed of the electric locomotive is 120 km / h.
