OREANDA-NEWS. October 09, 2012. The Board of Directors of TNK-BP expresses its deepest condolences concerning the tragic death of Alexander Krischenko, operator of shop 1, as a result of a fire at the Company's Saratov Refinery, reported the press-centre of TNK-BP.

"On behalf of the Board of Directors I extend my deepest condolences, sympathy and support to the family and loved ones of Alexander Krischenko, as well as the employees of Saratov Refinery," said Mikhail Fridman, Chairman of the Board of Directors of TNK-BP. "We will continue to do all that we can to help them in these difficult times. The safety of all our employees remains the top priority at TNK-BP. This is a bitter lesson for us all and we will put our full efforts to improve safety and prevent such tragedies going forward.”

The Company is currently investigating the incident to determine the cause of the fire and ensure that all necessary measures are taken to ensure the highest levels of health, safety and environmental standards in its operations.
