OREANDA-NEWS. October 11, 2012. Moldova saw the 0.9% inflation in September, 2012, and the 2.4% one since the beginning of the year.
According to the National Bureau of Statistics, within the last 12 months, from September, 2011 till September, 2012, the Consumer Price Index increased 4.9%. Deflation made up 0.4% in September, 2011; inflation was 5.2% in January-September, 2011 and 8.8% in September, 2011-September, 2012.

According to the National Bureau of Statistics, in September, 2012 prices for foodstuff went 1.6% up, prices for nonfoods increased 0.6% ; tariffs for services grew 0.2%. According to official statistics, in September, prices grew by 16.9% for dietary eggs, by 1.2% for meat and canned meat, namely by 3.9 for pork, 2.3% for mutton, 1.9% for beef and 1% for poultry. Prices also grew 13.7% for fat, 3.2% for vegetable oil, 0.9% for dairy. Fresh vegetables increased 4.7%: prices grew 38.2% for water melons, 16.4% for tomatoes, 11.3% for cucumbers and 7.9% for garlic. Potatoes increased 3.7% sugar 1.5% wheat bread by 0.9%.

Among non-foods, in September, 2012 the greatest increase in prices was registered for cars and lorries, which went up 4.4% and fuel, which grew 1.7%, including bottled liquefied gas by 2.9% and combustibles by 2.7%. Prices for cloths grew 0.5%. In particular, children suits increased 1.3%, women jackets and sweaters grew 1.2%; cloths for newborns went up 0;8%, foot wear by 0.3%, cigarettes by 1.5%.

At the same time, in September, 2012 prices decreased 8.4% for carrots and onions, 4.4% for sweet pepper, 3.2% for seed fruits, 0.5% for honey, 1.6% for colour TV receivers. Prices for dishwashing machines, cookers, computers and summer foot wear declined from 0.1% to 0.3%. As for services to population, in September there was a growth in prices for transportation by 0.6%. Taxi services increased 12%, passenger air transportation ones grew 1.8%.

Tariffs for foreign tourism increased 0.8% within this period. In August NBM lowered its inflation projection 1 p.p. from 4.9% to 3.9% for 2012 and 0.5% from 4.4% to 3.9% for 2013.
