OREANDA-NEWS. October 12, 2012. KAMAZ participated in the 5th International Conference "St. Petersburg – the Sea Capital of Russia. Transport and Transit Potential”. The conference was held to develop solutions for providing efficient operation of the transport system in Russia.

The conference was held under the aegis of Russia’s Ministry of Transport, Ministry of Economic Development, Ministry of Regional Development, Federal Agency for the Development of the State Border Facilities, Federal Customs Service. The discussion was mainly directed at renovation and further development of the transport system at different levels in the context of Russia’s active participation in such integration processes as accession to the WTO and formation of the Customs Union of the Common Economic Space.

The participants of the event discussed various issues relating to modernization of the transport infrastructure, businessmen’s participation in infrastructure projects, solutions for better transportation.

KAMAZ’s specialists presented a technology which can help Russian trucks win foreign markets. It is a large-scale project of KAMAZ called KAMATEYNER for successive transportation of goods with the help of an all-purpose detachable swap body. Trucks can carry standard shipping containers, which reduces costs and time for transshipment. According to Boris Morozov, Chief of the Analytical Department of OJSC KAMAZ, KAMAZ is developing two technologies.

A standard truck with spring suspension, equipped with two air cushions for body lifting was demonstrated at the conference. A truck with all-pneumatic suspension was tested at the proving ground. According to the developers of this vehicle, it is 3 times more efficient and 2 times more profitable than a standard truck.
