Leader in the long steel segment in the Americas, Gerdau has been named the Best Company supplying construction materials in three categories of the Anamaco Award 2012: Nails, Screens, Trusses & Annealed Wires, and Steel Rebars. Considered the "Oscars of Construction", the award is granted by the National Association of Construction Material Stores (Anamaco), which this year evaluated 75 categories of products in Brazil.

Gerdau was elected the leader in nails with 86% of presence at the points of sales and in the segment of screens, trusses, & annealed wires with 69%, and the GG 50 rebar won first place in the category of Steel Rebars with a 76% representation in the stores. These products are certified with an ecological seal, which formalizes its compliance with environmentally sustainable practices in its manufacturing process.

The results of the award are based on a survey carried out by Anamaco in partnership with Ibope Intelligence. Interviews are held with clients from this sector in the major Brazilian cities evaluating companies and their products based on criteria such as quality, price, and customer service.
