OREANDA-NEWS. October 16, 2012. ORLEN Lietuva, with its sponsorship program for the autumn, continues to focus on large-scoped culture and art projects. The name of the Mazeikiai company, as the general sponsor of the concert season, was pronounced at the National Philharmonic, the Mazeikiai International Art Festival and the ‘Banchetto Musicale’ Programme at the Palace of the Grand Dukes of Lithuania, reported the press-centre of ORLEN Lietuva.

It is the second year in a row that ORLEN Lietuva acts as the major sponsor to the concert season by the Lithuanian National Philharmonic. From September to December, the Philharmonic will present to its audience about 60 concerts which, with the diversity of their genres, styles and performers' experience, are to reflect this season’s motto ‘Discover yourself in the world of music!’.

“We appreciate initiatives that create not only material, but also spiritual and aesthetic values. For that reason we continue being loyal partners of Lithuanian culture as well as of the Mazeikiai community”, said General Director of Public Company ORLEN Lietuva Ireneusz Fafara.

72nd season of the National Philharmonic will feature not only first-night concerts, but also concerts marking certain occasions, meetings with renowned and yet-unrevealed talented musicians. Seeking to widen the scope of discoveries in the world of music, this season the Philharmonic will give even more attention to educational programs both in Vilnius and different towns of Lithuania.

‘Culture is one of the cornerstones upon which our state rests; therefore, we are very glad that the financial support granted by ORLEN Lietuva continuous to guarantee the concerts in the Philharmonic this season’, said the General Director of the largest in Lithuania concert institution Ruta Pruseviciene.

This autumn, as the concert season is running-up, ORLEN Lietuva remains loyal to the subject of the Year of Museums, as proclaimed in Lithuania for the year 2012. On 3rd October, at the Palace of the Grand Dukes of Lithuania, art gourmets had an exclusive occasion to hear the ‘Banchetto Musicale’ Festival concert ‘Silva Rerum 1562’, that was dedicated for the 450th wedding anniversary of Kotryna Jogailaite and Jonas Vaza. At the beginning of the year, ORLEN Lietuva was also involved in sponsorship of the international exhibition at the Vilnius Picture Gallery of the Lithuanian Art Museum. It was dedicated for one of the most famous noblemen families of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania – the Sapiehas.

Mazeikiai is not subject to disregard either; the town has, for over a month, become the Samogitian capital of sophisticated art. ORLEN Lietuva is the majour sponsor of the traditional, this time the sixth, Art Festival ‘Mazeikiai 2012’. The event which will last from September till the end of October and whose Artistic Director is maestro Saulius Sondeckis involves performers from several countries – Lithuania, Poland, and Belorussia.

Sponsored also by the company ORLEN Lietuva, the International Bards (Singers-Songwriters) Festival THIS IS ME (‘Tai – as’) will soon be opened in Vilnius. In the middle of September, the company together with Telsiai Municipality supported the creation of the medal dedicated for the international science conference ‘The Last Citizens of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania: Ways Walked by Stanislovas & Gabrielius Narutaviciai’.
