OREANDA-NEWS. October 16, 2012. According to the press service of the Ministry of Agriculture of Russia, this was arranged at the meeting in Moscow between Minister of Agriculture of RF Nikolay Fedorov and Minister of Agriculture and Food industry of RM Vasile Bumacov, who was taking part in the opening ceremony of the Mellow Autumn, 14th Russian agricultural and industrial exhibition. Participants of the meeting mentioned that Russia agricultural export to Moldova increased almost by 26% in 2011 and made up USD 113,4 mln whereas Moldovan deliveries to Russia declined 5.3% to USD 241.3 mln.

According to the Ministers, there is the huge cooperation potential for cooperation between our states. Last year the Ministry of Agriculture of RM and RF identified main kinds of agricultural products and food to develop bilateral trade and made up pro forma balance sheets on meat, meat products, sugar, and sunflower oil. Nikolay Fedorov said that using pro forma balance sheets is an effective mechanism to systematize bilateral trade and suggested Moldova’s party to proceed to their preparation.

He called promising Russian-Moldovan agricultural future. Participants of the meeting noted that active work continues in all areas of bilateral cooperation in the food and processing industry, wine and sees growing, exhibitions organizing.

All this was reflected in the Memorandum of Interaction between the Ministries of Agriculture of Russia and Moldova, signed earlier. In conclusion, the Ministers discussed an opportunity to hold a joint sitting of the agricultural ministry boards in 2013.
