OREANDA-NEWS. October 17, 2012. Relevant act adds a new article to the State Budget 2012 Law of Ukraine granting unrequited funds to the Dnipropetrovskyi Metropoliten Public Utility Company on the understanding that Dnipropetrovsk City Council refunds costs incurred by the State Budget to service the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development EUR 152 million loan extended by the Government to implement the Dnipropetrovsk Metro Construction Completion Project.

Due to EBRD funds raised, the Dnipropetrovsk first metro line will be completed (from Komunarivska to Muzeina station with a depot), and the Dnipropetrovsk Metro second kickoff site will go on line. Now that the Law is adopted, this will enable to complete the Dnipropetrovsk Metro construction and solve the city’s traffic and environment issues, improve ecology, create jobs and boost consumption of local products of metal, construction, and machinery industries.
