OREANDA-NEWS. October 18, 2012. Belarus’ foreign trade surplus amounted to USD 3.814 billion in January-August 2012, compared to a USD 1.312 billion deficit in January-August 2011, according to the website of the National Bank of Belarus.

The overall turnover of commodities and services reached USD 69.463 billion in January-August 2012, up 13.5% on the year.

Exports of commodities and services rose 22.4% to USD 36.638 billion, and imports increased 5.1% to USD 32.824 billion.

Commodity trade surplus reached USD 1.948 billion in January-August 2012 to compare with a USD 2.881 billion deficit in January-August 2011 (USD 32.346 billion of exports, up 23.5% on the year, and USD 30.399 billion of imports, up 4.6%), and service trade surplus amounted to USD 1.867 billion, up 19% on year (USD 4.292 billion of exports, up 14.5%, and USD 2.425 billion of imports, up 11.2%).
