OREANDA-NEWS. October 23, 2012. MCC Baosteel Technology Services Co., Ltd. (BTS) announced on October 9, 2012, that Xieli Company, a subsidiary of BTS, successfully completed the UT (ultrasonic testing) for the last part of Wenzhou Gate Bridge, China’s first cross-sea bridge, reported the press-centre of MCC Group.

The fulfillment of this task symbolizes a smooth completion of the first UT on the steel structure of a bridge, which is a big progress achieved by the company in experience accumulation in the exploration of NDE (nondestructive examination) business.

As one of the key projects in Zhejiang Province, Wenzhou Gate Bridge is the first multifunctional cross-sea bridge for transportation, water and power supply. The bridge starts from Wengyang Town of Leqing City, and ends at the south-west terminal at Xiaomen Island, with a total length of 9.32km. This facility is deemed to be of great significance for improving the transportation conditions of Wenzhou Port and accelerating the development of the coastal industry belt in the local area.

The testing lasted for a period of 2 months. The NDE staff of BTS gained full recognition from the employer, the contractors and the supervisors for their rigorous working style and perfect professional quality.
