OREANDA-NEWS. October 24, 2012.  According to head of the municipal financial department Veronic Herta, who took the floor at weekly municipal sitting, revenues of the budget for 2013 are expected at 2.643 bln. leis, 8/9% up as compared with the target for 2012, with expenditures being 2.664 bln. leis (+2%). 

The budget deficit is going to be covered by means received from sale or privatization of the municipal property. A greatest share of revenues will be comprised of taxes on income and regulated types of activity. Education expenditures will increase by 200 mln. leis to 1.5 bln. leis approximately. Road and public conveyances expenditures will amount to 328 mln. leis and the social assistance expenditures will make 233 mln. leis.

The municipal police is to be financed from the state budget. Mayor of Chisianu Dorin Chirtoaca thinks work the police will not be effective under conditions when it is subordinated to municipal authorities but paid to from the state budget.

The budget of Chisinau was approved at the end of February, 2012 wit the deficit of 219.9 mln. leis. Its revenues made 2.39 bln. leis in 2012, wchih was 16% more than in 2011. Expenditures fo the municipal budget amounted to 2.61 bln., (+13%).
