OREANDA-NEWS. October 24, 2012. JSW Steel Limited reported 25% growth in crude steel production in Q2 FY 2013 compared to that of corresponding period of last fiscal year.

The Company’s Hot Strip Mill No.2 was under shutdown from 24/09/2012 for a period of 21 days to enhance its capacity from 3.5 MTPA to 5 MTPA, due to which flat rolled products showed a lower growth relative to that of Crude steel production. This mill was recommenced production ahead of scheduled date with enhanced capacity on 13/10/2012.

The Company achieved Crude Steel production of 43.15 lacs tons in the first half of FY 2013, showing a growth of 26% over the corresponding period of last year.
