OREANDA-NEWS. October 24, 2012. The President of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan Republic Rovnag Abdullayev met with the delegation led by managing director of the Indian National Oil Company ONGC Videsh Ltd. Dinesh Saraf.
The meeting participants discussed the interest of the Indian company in the Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli (ACG) project, as well as in the Hess share, a partner in the PSA contract for development of “Azeri'', ''Chirag'' and the deep part of ''Guneshli'' fields in the Azerbaijani sector of the Caspian Sea.

Saluting the guests, SOCAR President Rovnag Abdullayev spoke about the rich and ancient history of oil in Azerbaijan. Expressing his gratitude for the reception, managing director of ONGC Videsh Ltd. Dinesh Saraf said the activities of ONGC and SOCAR have important similarities, and the two companies in the first place, are guided by national interests. He noted that the oil industry in India has a 70-year history and Azerbaijani specialists play an important role in its development. According to him, the ONGC Videsh Company is currently implementing 30 projects in 15 countries.

He expressed their interest in participating in the oil and gas projects in Azerbaijan. As he mentioned, in case of acquisition of the Hess share in the project, by participating in the ACG project, the corporation will be able to contribute to the future development of ACG project and to recover some of the historical debt to Azerbaijan.
