OREANDA-NEWS. October 26, 2012. Renaissance Asset Managers (RAM), the leading emerging and frontier markets investment manager, announces the appointment of Mark Robinson as Head of Research. As a consultant based in Prague, Mark will lead RAM’s thematic research and work closely with the investment teams on strategy and asset allocation across portfolios to further integrate RAM’s bottom-up and top-down insights.

Mark brings to RAM a wealth of experience, with 18 years working both buy and sell side, focused on Emerging Markets, particularly Emerging Europe. Mark joins RAM from Wood & Company, where he had a very successful career as a Head of Research and latterly as Head of Equities.

Prior to this, Mark was as a fund manager for more than 10 years, initially specialising in Asian equities at NPI, then Fleming Asset Management, before switching regions to co-manage the JP Morgan Fleming Emerging European fund stable for six years. In 2005, Mark moved to the sell side as Head of Research at CA IB Investment Bank in London, and built his reputation as an Emerging European Research Strategist, consistently achieving top-three rankings in sell-side surveys such as Institutional Investor, Thomson Reuters Extel and Poland's Parkiet over recent years. In 2007 Mark was appointed Head of Equity Research as UniCredit fused its brokerage operations, and in 2010 he moved to Wood & Company. Mark has an MA Hons in Geography from the University of Oxford.
