OREANDA-NEWS. October 29, 2012. Kirovsky Zavod completed modernization of the main tractor assembly line.

The key element of the program became shortening of the line length from 26 to 13 posts. This reduced the assembly time of the machine from eight days to four and a half and made it possible to cut down by an order of magnitude the equipment involved into the assembly process which, in its turn, also required regular investment and maintenance. Thus, the number of hoisting machines only reduced from 22 to 7 units. Simultaneously, the change of the line length allowed releasing over 40 million rubles of current assets which were frozen at the previous industrial management.

Within the frames of the project CJSC St Petersburg Tractor Plant (a subsidiary of JSC Kirovsky Zavod) renovated all mechanisms of the line and launched a modern system of its remote control. Moreover, a new system of energy efficient lighting designed both to enhance work comfort of employees and to cut down expenses for electric power was put into operation at production.

About 120 tractors will go from the modernized line on a monthly basis. In 2013 production of Kirovets tractor will be increased to 150 units per month. Since January, 2012 CJSC St Petersburg Tractor Plant has produced 730 machines. In 2011 the enterprise produced 644 tractors. Reconstruction of the main assembly line is one element of the modernization program of CJSC St Petersburg Tractor Plant which at the present is the most dynamically developing enterprise of Kirovsky Zavod Group and the leader at the Russian market of energy-saturated tractors.
