OREANDA-NEWS. October 30, 2012. Ingosstrakh Insurance Company became the partner of the 2nd International Muslim Magomaev Vocalists Contest held on the Crocus City Hall stage in Moscow on October 20 and 21. The insurer also incorporated a special Audience Award later awarded to the winner.

More than 200 performers took part in the contest try-outs; by the results of a preliminary audition, 17 vocalists were selected. The contestants performed both classic and pop compositions. The mastery of young artists was evaluated by a jury of experts – Prof. Elena Obraztsova, People's Artist of the USSR, soloist of the Bolshoi Theater; Laima Vaikule, a pop singer and actress, Prof. Vincenzo de Vivo, Art Director of the Opera Academy(Italy), and others. The jury was chaired by Prof. Tamara Sinyavskaya, People’s Artist of the USSR, soloist of the Bolshoi Theater.

The contest Grand Prix was awarded to Zhenisbek Piyazov from Uzbekistan. The first Prize was received by Sergey Plyusin (Russia), the second Prize was given to Anatoly Sivko (Belarus); while the third Prize was shared between Irina Kostina (Russia) and Vladimir Boldt (Germany). As the contest partner, Ingosstrakh Insurance Company incorporated a special Audience Award; both the prize and a gift of money were received by Vladimir Tselebrovsky (Russia).

According to Ilya Solomatin, Vice President of Ingosstrakh Insurance Company, “it was a great honor for us to support the contest held in memory of the notable musician and great singer of the 20th century Muslim Magomaev. His art and legacy had been a huge contribution to the national and world cultures. It is especially significant that the contest was held in the 70th birthday of Muslim Magomaev.”
