OREANDA-NEWS. November 1, 2012. Ingosstrakh Insurance Company branch in Arkhangelsk continued cooperation with Belfreight, JSC and provided hull insurance for the vessel Aldan, as well as insurance coverage for shipowner’s liability including that to participants of the expedition the vessel set off.

The amount insured under hull insurance contract totals RUB 27.5 m. The vessel was insured on the terms ‘with liability for total loss and damage’. Pursuant to P&I contract (shipowner’s liability contract), the limit comprises USD 2 m.

The research vessel Aldan set off to the territory of the Russkaya Arktika National Park to search for the famous caravel of Willem Barents. Lifting up the parts of the sunken vessel from the Barents Sea bottom will allow the Russian scientists to reconstruct the caravel of the Age of Exploration for the first time.

The initiator and ideological inspirer of the expedition Dmitry Kravchenko — a historian, deep sea navigator, Vice President of Travelers’ Association – won support of the Fund for Assistance to the Northern and Arctic Territories “Sever Nash” and Administration of the Russkaya Arktika National Park, on the territory of which, off the coast of the Novaya Zemlya archipelago, the remains of The Flying Dutchman are presumably located.

The expedition has been organized and sponsored by “Sever Nash” Fund, the Administration of the Russkaya Arktika National Park and Belfreight, JSC.

The Ingosstrakh Insurance Company branch cooperates with Belfreight, JSC in the field of motor vehicles insurance since 2009, while in water transport insurance – since 2012. At present, the insurance coverage by Ingosstrakh Insurance Company has been provided to four vessels of the insurant.

Sea-land dry-cargo ships of Belfreight, JSC work on shipping goods both in the northern and southern seas including inland waterways of the Russian Federation.
