OREANDA-NEWS. November 02, 2012. 25 Transnistrian businessmen were familiarized with the advantages of the trade regimes with Moldova at a seminar held in Ribnita. Also were attending the seminar businessmen from towns Ribnita, Camenca, Tiraspol, etc., working in the metallurgic, bakery and light industry sectors.

The aim of the meeting was to inform the Transnistrain businessmen about the opportunities offered by the Moldovan trade regimes, prospects and also the risks these implies.

The director of the commercial policies department of the Economics Ministry, Inga Ionesii, said that entrepreneurs were informed about the deep and comprehensive free trade agreement with the EU, about the free trade agreements with the CIS states, with CEFTA states, and those following to be signed with Turkey too.

Referring to the free trade agreement with the EU, Ionesii noted "Businesspeople will have a 10-year transition period to modernize the production process and to implement the international quality standards such a way that the proposed goods to be competitive. They will benefit from state's and the EU's assistance."

The seminar was organized by the Moldovan Trade and Industry Chamber with the support of the EU-financed UNDP programme "Support to Confidence-Building Measures". Programme's general objective is to contribute to bolstering confidence between the two banks of the Dniester river by involving local authorities, civil society, business community and other interested parties in the economic and social development activities of the local communities.
