OREANDA-NEWS. November 7, 2012. Doctor Web has updated software components in its Dr.Web Desktop Security Suite and Dr.Web Server Security Suite which supports centralized administration.

Changes were made to the GUI anti-virus scanner to address issues related to transferring information to the server. The update also fixes errors that occurred in some cases during the installation and updating of the Net filtering service and resolves an issue that arose upon disabling Windows Defender during installation of the Dr.Web Enterprise Security Suite agent.

In addition, an error involving the Dr.Web shortcut appearing on the desktop after it had been removed has been resolved. A problem with launching the scanner in the safe mode has also been resolved.

Improvements were made to the installation module and the automatic updating module for Windows. These changes have contributed to the components’ increased stability and the elimination of previously identified errors.

A SpIDer Guard (G3) issue has also been resolved; it deletes certain files now instead of blocking them. The mechanism for transporting malicious files found on flash drives to the quarantine has been improved. SpIDer Guard (G3) had been intercepting them on their way to quarantine, creating in the quarantine a copy of the malicious code.

The update will be automatically downloaded by the anti-viruses, but applying it will require a system reboot.
