OREANDA-NEWS. November 8, 2012. The annual presentation of scholarship certificates by Uralkali to high-performing students has been held at the Berezniki affiliate of Perm National Research Polytechnic University (PNRPU).

The Company awarded scholarships to the five best students based on their achievements in the second term. Andrey Zamyatin received a scholarship for the fifth time, Olga Alekseeva — for the fourth time, and Ksenia Kroutikova — for the third time. The students are enrolled in courses to gain qualifications which are highly sought after at Uralkali, including chemical technology of inorganic substances as well as machinery and equipment for chemical production.

Andrey Grekhov, Chief Mechanical Engineer of Uralkali, who granted the scholarship certificates to the students, commented:

"Uralkali is currently undergoing many changes. It is not easy to be the leader of the global potash industry. To maintain our position we need skilled and talented specialists. Today’s event is a good example of cooperation between private business and a state university."

Oleg Kosvintsev, director of the PNRPU’s Berezniki campus, remarked:

"Uralkali has given out these scholarships for the last five years as part of a cooperation agreement with the university. This year’s ceremony was more than just an annual presentation, it was also an anniversary event. More and more students are applying each year for one of our prestigious scholarships. We had 20 candidates this term alone."

Natalya Verstina, a fourth year student, noted:

" In my opinion, Uralkali is one of our town’s leading companies. It is a great company and I would very much like to work for Uralkali."
