OREANDA-NEWS. November 12, 2012. A tour of a new terminal construction site was arranged for more than 30 students from Engineering and Construction Department of St. Petersburg State Polytechnical University and Academy of Arts.

During the tour visitors took a look at the project of the terminal, the details of architectural and planning concept as well as comfort and safety of passengers and other interesting facts of construction procedure.

“I would like to emphasize that the tour was-well organized and safety requirements were observed at the construction site. The escort group did their job perfectly. Students are full of determination to continue development of contacts with the Construction Department of Northern Capital Gateway LLC,” – said Maria Yurievna Kononova the professor of St. Petersburg State Polytechnical University.

In spring 2012 the University started to cooperate with the Pulkovo Airport operator. In summer 2012 the first training was held for third-year students. Successful results of the training set the stage for continuous, year-round cooperation, as considerable time of degree programs of the Polytechnical University bachelors, specialists and masters is devoted to introductive, general construction, manufacturing and pre-graduation training.

“Such tours are the unique opportunity for students to understand specific nature of their future occupation and the industry as a whole by the example of the existing aviation enterprise as well as become real professionals,” – said the representative of Northern Capital Gateway LLC.

It is not the only way of NCG LLC cooperation with St. Petersburg educational institutions. In September 2012 employees of the Airport took part in the opening of the first aerospace class at school №543 of Moskovsky District, thus making a new step in the development of “Pulkovo for Children” social program. Currently, the technique of educational process is developed and it is planned to conduct career guidance and educational work aimed to raise the interest in aviation among middle school students and senior school students.
