OREANDA-NEWS. November 14, 2012. United Metallurgical Company (OMK) hosted the international conference “The Development of Regional Metal Trade Between OMK and Steel Trading Companies.” Over 110 heads and specialists of companies that sell OMK-produced metal products participated in the event.

Alexander Serpukhov, sales director of OMK Pipe Division, said, “For the sixth year in a row, we are gathering a wide range of specialists and metal trade market participants not only from Russia, but also Latvia, Estonia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Germany and Poland. We have developed a truly international platform that facilitates the discussion of metal market development in a friendly atmosphere. This year one of the key issues is the change in demand on the flat steel market. I believe that the exchange of opinions should be expanded by inviting representatives of new markets.”

Grigory Bogoslavsky, CEO of Promstroymetall IC, said, “We have been cooperating with OMK for many years now, and during this period we have had the opportunity to appreciate its customer-centric approach and high product quality. In my opinion, conferences dedicated to the development of the regional metal trade are important for all market participants. It is great that this year’s conference attracted so many specialists. A positive and efficient dialogue is one of the core advantages of the event annually held by OMK.”

In their speeches, representatives of OMK, its affiliates and business partners analyzed the situation on the metal trade market, in particular pricing, procurement and sales issues. Special attention was given to the development of pipe markets in Russia’s regions, CIS countries and Western Europe, as well as the general economic situation.
