OREANDA-NEWS. November 19, 2012. Iurii IEMELIANOV, who was previously at the head of Aerohandling, and prior to that held top management positions at AeroSvit and Donbassaero airlines, was appointed Director General of AeroSvit – Ukrainian Airlines.

Pursuant to the decision of AeroSvit’s Supervisory Board, Iurii IEMELIANOV took office on Tuesday, November 13th, 2012. The Supervisory Board set him the task to optimize company management, improve its operational efficiency, enhance flights regularity and the level of service, intensify collaboration with partner carriers.

At that, Alexander AVDIEIEV was relieved of his duties as Director General by mutual consent. Members of the Supervisory Board expressed gratitude to A.AVDIEIEV for his work.

Iurii IEMELIANOV was born in January, 1965. Graduated from National Aviation University of Ukraine, has diplomas and certificates in economics and business management, quality systems audit.

Upon completing his studies, IEMELIANOV worked at various enterprises of air transport industry. In particular, he held management positions at the technical complex of Ukraine International Airlines, at the US-Ukrainian joint venture Pratt and Whitney - Paton.

In 2006 he started working as Deputy Director General for Safety and Quality at AeroSvit Airlines, and in 2008 he was invited to Donbassaero to the position of executive director. Since June 2010, he was at the head of Aerohandling – a company, providing ground handling services for passengers as well as aircraft under contracts with Ukrainian and foreign air carriers.

AeroSvit – Ukrainian Airlines was established in 1994, has its hub at Kyiv-Boryspil Airport . AeroSvit serves 80 international routes to 34 countries, including seven non-stop transcontinental air routes, provides passenger carriages to the largest cities of Ukraine.

AeroSvit actively cooperates with its partners within Ukrainian Aviation Group Strategic Alliance - Dniproavia and Donbassaero airlines - as well as with dozens of Ukrainian and foreign air carriers in the framework of 250 commercial agreements currently in force.

At present AeroSvit is operating 28 aircraft manufactured by Boeing Company, including 8 long-haul Boeing 767 and 20 medium-haul Boeing 737 as well as making use of partner carriers’ equipment namely Airbus 320/321, Embraer 145, Embraer 190 and ATR-72 aircraft.

AeroSvit is a member of International Air Transport Association since 1996 and Association of European Airlines since 2008.

The airline was among the first carriers in Eastern Europe that satisfied IOSA requirements (IATA Operational Safety Audit) and successfully confirms every second year its safety standards through independent IOSA audits, including the latest in 2011, after which AeroSvit prolonged its IOSA operator certificate till October 2013.
