OREANDA-NEWS. November 19, 2012. Kaluga Turbine Works (KTZ OJSC) – member of the Power Machines Company – has manufactured and successfully tested a 50 MW steam turbine for Novolipetsk Steel (NLMK) OJSC.

KTZ OJSC and Soyuz Power Development Corporation OJSC (Moscow) signed a contract to supply power equipment in February 2011. Under the contract terms Kaluga Turbine Works is to manufacture a 50 MW T-50-8,8/0,12 turbine, supply the equipment to NLMK and perform installation supervision and commissioning works. 

Two years ago KTZ OJSC supplied a series of three turbines having the same capacity for NLMK, but the T-50 turbine is a new solution of the designers. Thecompany has not produced the units of this class having  such design before. The turbine for NLMK will become a prototype and basing on it KTZ OJSC will design and manufacture similar machines of a capacity up to 70 MW.
