OREANDA-NEWS. November 19, 2012. CCI of Russia Vice-President Georgy Petrov has met with a delegation of Japanese young public figures and businessmen.

The delegation came to Russia under a program of short-term familiarizing trips of young representatives of foreign states drafted in fulfillment of an ordinance of the President of the Russian Federation.

The visit will familiarize the delegation with the socioeconomic, business, sociopolitical and cultural life of Russia.

CCI of Russia Vice-President Georgy Petrov informed the delegation about goals and tasks of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Russia, which united more than 170 territorial chambers and over 300 unions and associations of the country’s businessmen, and dwelt on the structure of services and opportunities provided by the CCI of Russia, including legal ones, for reliable protection of interests of representatives of Russian and foreign business communities.

The CCI of Russia is doing a lot to develop international cooperation, which is a primary area of the activity of the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry – a member of the World Chambers Federation, the Association of European Chambers of Commerce and Industry, the Confederation of Asia-Pacific Chambers of Commerce and Industry and some other international and regional organizations, Georgy Petrov said.

Speaking of bilateral trade and economic relations, he noted significant progress in the development of cooperation between Russia and Japan, which is an important investment partner of our country, gave examples of successful bilateral business projects and presented tasks of the near future and prospects of Russian-Japanese economic cooperation.

In conclusion, Georgy Petrov answered questions of Japanese businessmen; he gave a detailed account of the development of agriculture and investment options, touched upon the provision of world food security and offered cooperation to the delegation.
