OREANDA-NEWS. November 19, 2012. The second AN-148-100E manufactured at VAB JSC for Angara airlines flew from Voronezh to Irkutsk. The ordered version the AN-148-100E will carry 75 passengers over a distance upto 4400 km.

The AN-148-100E airplanes will widen substantially geography of the airlines’ flights due to routes to Novosibirsk, Vladivostok, Khabarovsk, Chita and other airports of Siberia and Far East. The international flights to the countries of South-East Asia are also planned. At the initial stage they will be operated at the airfields with concrete pavement. Than the net of the airports will be widened due to ability of the AN-148-100E to be operated from/to the unpaved runways, including those covered with a layer of rolled snow. Thus stable and comfort communication between central and remote taiga districts of East Siberia will be arranged. Such a communication will provide efficient realization of national programmes on development of new deposits of useful fossils.

Angara became the fourth airlines operating the AN-148. Till present, these airplanes have already transported about 1,400,000 passengers to 65 airports of the 37 countries worldwide.
