OREANDA-NEWS. November 21, 2012. Beginning of natural gas supplies to Ukraine from Europe in reverse mode, as well as the realization of the project LNG-terminal permit Ukraine really to diversity routes of gas supplies and reduce dependence on expensive Russian gas. This was started by the Minister of Energy and Coal Industry of Ukraine Yuriy Boyko on air of the Inter TV channel.

"We will have three ways of delivery: the first, unfortunately, bad - it is a contract with Gazprom signed by the previous government. Second - we started pumping from Europe and we have signed a contract for 5 billion cubic meters of gas, the cost of which is significantly lower than what we get from our Russian colleagues. And the third - soon we will start building liquefied natural gas terminal", the Minister said.

According to Yuriy Boyko, the cost of gas that Ukraine will receive from Europe in reverse mode may be lower than the price of Russian gas for USD 100.

"The cost of gas is tied to the spot market price. In the summer, when prices on the spot are down, we hope that the price of gas will be cheaper by USD 100" - said Yuriy Boyko.

He also said that to get the first gas through the LNG-terminal Ukraine plans in the fall of next year.
