OREANDA-NEWS. November 22, 2012. Belarus’ Finance Ministry posted a republican budget surplus of 200 billion Belarusian rubles (Br) (USD 23.4 million at the NBB rate) in January-September 2012, or 0.04% of GDP, an official with the Finance Ministry told.

The republican budget indicates spending and revenues of the central administration, whereas the consolidated budget also includes local budgets.

Republican budget revenues amounted to 66.8 trillion rubles (USD 7.8 billion) in January-September 2012, or 69.9% of the target for the whole year.

Revenues from the value-added tax amounted to 22.4 trillion rubles (almost USD 2.6 billion, 66.9% of the year target), from income tax – Br4.3 trillion (USD 504.1 million, 91.4%), from foreign economic activities 17.9 trillion rubles (USD 2.1bn), 70.5% of the target.

Republican budget expenditures reached 66.7 trillion rubles (USD 7.8 billion), 69.6% of the target for 2012.

General state expenditures stood at 31.2 trillion rubles (USD 3.7 billion), 67.9% of the target, national economy expenditures were at 13 billion rubles (USD 1.5 billion), 71.1% of the target, expenditures on welfare, science, culture, healthcare, mass media, sports, education, etc. amounted to 13.7 trillion rubles (USD 1.6bn), 72.7% of the target for 2012.

According to the new edition of the budget plan adjusted by the Finance Ministry, the 2012 republican budget revenues are projected at 95.755 trillion rubles (USD 11.226 billion), and expenditures at 95.663 trillion rubles. Hence, in 2012 Belarus is expected to have a deficit budget on Br91.9 billion (USD 10.8 million).
