OREANDA-NEWS. November 26, 2012. OJSC MMC Norilsk Nickel (Company or MMC Norilsk Nickel) reports management rearrangement, reported the press-centre of Norilsk Nickel. 

Evgeny Muravyev, the incumbent Director of the Company’s Polar Division for the last 3 years, is promoted to the position of Deputy General Director of MMC Norilsk Nickel, effective as of November 26.

Vladimir Strzhalkovsky, the Company’s General Director, pointed to Muravyev’s major contribution to the MMC Norilsk Nickel chief production site development effort. Over the course of Muravyev’s tenure, the Polar Division has demonstrated stable operation, which was supplemented by growing output and implementation of numerous revitalization and production facilities renovation projects. In 2012 the Company set out to undertake a massive environmental project aimed at substantially reducing pollutant emissions originating in Polar Division metallurgical production.

The Company is paying special attention to environmental issues. With environment protection in mind MMC Norilsk Nickel is upgrading the production chains, implementing new technologies and carrying out environment protection projects. Over the 2004-2011 timespan the Company has expended over RUB 90 billion to environment protection initiatives, including technical refitting, renovation maintenance of environmental equipment, environment protection capital expenditure. This direction will be maintained and among other issues to be overseen by Evgeny Muravyev in his new position.

Alexander Ryumin is promoted to fill in the Director’s position in the Company’s Polar Division. His working experience in the Company is almost 40 years.

1984 - graduated from Tyumen Industrial Institute, majoring in engineering-chemical engineering.

1991 - graduated from Kuban State University with a degree in economics. Candidate of Economic Sciences degree holder.

Occupation experience:

1991-1999 - was employed by various business entities in Krasnodar.

1999, May – 2001, January - held office of General Director of Kubanles State Unitary Enterprise in Krasnodar Krai.

2000 – elected member of Krasnodar City Duma, Chairman of the Duma Finance Budget, Banking, Taxation and Investment Policy Committee.

2001-2002 – chaired Krasnodar Krai Natural Resources and Environment Protection Committee.
2003, August – held position of Krasnodar Krai Administration Deputy Chief on issues of resort and tourism industry; Azov-Black Sea Coastline Development/Resort and Tourism Industry Department of Krasnodar Krai Administration General Director.

2003, December – held office of Krasnodar Krai Vice-Governor on issues of education, culture, healthcare, social protection, resort and tourism industry.

2005, January – held office of Krasnodar Krai Vice-Governor on issues of economic development.

2008, June – 2009, January – held office of Krasnodar Krai First Deputy Governor.

2009, May – 2010, January – appointed as General Director of OJSC Kola MMC.

2010, January – present – Director of MMC Norilsk Nickel Polar Division.

Born February 4, 1956.

Education:

1978 – graduated from S.M. Kirov Ural Polytechnic Institute, majoring in engineering-metallurgy.

Occupation experience:

1978 – following graduation launched his career in Zavenyagin Norilsk Mining and Metallurgical Plant. Managed to ascend from the position of hydrometallurgical operator to the office of First Deputy General Director of the Company, Kola MMC General Director.
2008, December – present – has held office of MMC Norilsk Nickel Production Operations Management Department.
