OREANDA-NEWS. November 28, 2012. The fifth meeting of the Turkmen-Austrian Commission took place in the Turkmen capital with participation of the heads of a number of ministries and departments of Turkmenistan and the Union of Entrepreneurs and Industrialists of the country. The delegation including the heads and representatives of the governmental structures of the Republic of Austria arrived in the Turkmen capital to attend the meeting. Director General of the Department for Foreign Economic Policy and European Integration of the Federal Ministry of Economy, Family and Youth of the Republic of Austria Mr. Franz Wessing led the delegation.

The meeting agenda focused on the existing situation of the commodity circulation between Turkmenistan and Austria and the measures to be taken for increasing its volumes given the interests of the two countries. The power, textile, construction, healthcare and medical industries as well as tourism were defined among the priority trends for cooperation. The opportunities for participation of Austrian companies in implementation of projects on construction of cattle breeding complexes in Turkmenistan and delivery of equipment for the dairy and meat industry were considered during the meeting.

In conclusion of the meeting the members of the commission agreed to arrange the sixth sitting of the Turkmen-Austrian Joint Commission in the Republic of Austria in 2013.
