OREANDA-NEWS. November 29, 2012. Deputy Head of the Department of the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS Russia) for Control over Fuel-and Energy Complex, Olga Smirnova, addressed the Round Table on “Developing Domestic Gas Market: Taxes, Tariffs, Prices, Investments” at the X International Forum “Russian Gas – 2012”, reported the press-centre of FAS.

In her presentation “Antimonopoly Regulation of Gas Markets”, Olga Smirnova discussed the efforts of the Antimonopoly Service for improving competitive relations and the practice of investigating antimonopoly cases on the gas markets. She paid special attention to the issues of drafting regulations, particularly, the rules for non-discriminatory access to the major gas pipelines that enhance efficiency of antimonopoly regulation of the access to transportation of natural gas and dry stripped gas as well as connecting to the gas transportation system.

“Adopting the rules for non-discriminatory access to the major gas pipelines in the Russian Federation means creating equal access conditions to gas-transportation networks for the market participants that will facilitate competition on the gas market”, pointed out Olga Smirnova.
