OREANDA-NEWS. November 29, 2012. NTT DOCOMO, INC. announced today that it will establish on December 1 a wholly owned overseas subsidiary, DOCOMO SINGAPORE PTE. LTD., to provide Japanese customers in Singapore with Japanese-language support for a full range of communication services beginning January 1, 2013.

DOCOMO SINGAPORE, a sales agent of StarHub, the second-largest mobile phone operator in Singapore, will support Japanese speakers in the local area with sales of mobile phones, cable television and broadband Internet. It will also provide advice in Japanese regarding billing plans, handset use and registration processes.

The company will also support local Japanese businesses with sales of smartphones and other handsets, as well as consultation concerning billing plans and cost-effective international roaming via international partners in the Conexus Mobile Alliance. Conexus, one of Asia’s largest mobile alliances, has a combined customer base of 330 million mobile subscribers, including those of DOCOMO and StarHub.

In addition, DOCOMO SINGAPORE will operate the docomo Support Desk to provide Japanese travelers with assistance regarding mobile communication outside of Japan.

DOCOMO SINGAPORE will assume the business of DOCOMO’s Singapore representative office, which was established in 2005 and is scheduled to cease operations after cancelling its business registration.
