OREANDA-NEWS. November 30, 2012. Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko has said that he believes the value of state-owned potash producer Belaruskali could increase to USD 40 billion.

“Even western politicians say that Lukashenko is right in claiming that the value of Belarusakali is USD 32 billion. The market will rehabilitate, and the price may reach USD 36 billion,” the Belarusian president said.

“If anybody is ready to buy, we will sell 15%–20% but not the controlling stake…We will negotiate more for more when selling the controlling stake,” Lukashenko said.

In mid-2011, Lukashenko estimated Belaruskali at USD 30 billion.

In October 2011, Lukashenko said that Belarus plans to keep a controlling stake in Belaruskali, in which unspecified stakes were planned to be sold to investors.
