OREANDA-NEWS. December 03, 2012. Ukraine is interested to join the project to build the Trans-Anatolian gas pipeline. This was announced by Deputy Minister of Energy and Coal Industry of Ukraine Volodymyr Makuha in Oslo during a meeting with representatives of the energy sector in Norway. He is in a part of the Ukrainian delegation within the two-day official visit of Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov to the Kingdom of Norway.

"We are interested to join the initiative of building the Trans-Anatolian gas pipeline. Ukraine could join this project and some of the gas could be sent to Ukraine. This would supply gas to Europe", Volodymyr Makuha said.

He stressed that Ukraine could keep the gas in its underground vaults and in peak periods to increase gas pumping to Europe.
